The Native is a name you should probably get used to hearing as the West Country four-piece continues to hit us with their stellar sound. ‘In My Mind’ takes the indie sound they established when they came onto the scene last year and continues to drench it in incomparable melodies and thick walls of synth texture. “We found ourselves looking back on the twists and turns of half remembered nights out, craving them every weekend,” explains the band, who wrote the track during the first UK lockdown. It’s a little more light-hearted in comparison to their earlier tracks, which included ‘Chasing Highs’, a lament on the overdose of a local schoolgirl.
